Different Types Of Blinds

There are many different types and styles of blinds on the market today. No matter what your taste of home decor you are sure to find a window treatment that suits your needs perfectly. Knowing the different types of treatments will get you on your way to that perfect style.

What are they? Basically they are a window covering that suits some purpose such as giving privacy to those inside or blocking out sunlight.

Venetians are slatted and made of various materials such as wood, bamboo, plastic or metal. The slats width varies giving users many options for coverings.

Minis are just that, a mini version of Venetians but they have a narrower width to the slats.

Slats are made of metal, vinyl, or plastic and they are connected to a string so they can be pulled up and down, as well as have a rod so they can be opened or closed.

Verticals have slats that are made of plastic, fabric covered or even metal and they are hung from a track. The slats can be opened, allowing as much or as little light to pass through. They can also be pulled to one side of the track, making the entire window visible.

Wood treatments can come in a wide variety. There are many natural materials that are being recycled into beautiful things. These types of treatments have slats that are woven, the most common being bamboo. These particular blinds roll up for the adjustment of light. Solids can also be rolled up just like wooden, but they cannot be opened for light to pass through. This type is also known as a window shade.

Hollands are another form of shading. This type is easily controlled by a heavy duty chain system that will pull the shade up and down. This makes them easy to adjust and easy to clean. Victory Curtain and Blinds has a variety of Hollands for selection. http://www.victoryblinds.com.au/holland-blinds.html

These window treatments can also be separated by the types of materials used. They can be made from recycled products, wood, plastic, metal, aluminum, and plastic covered in different types of fabrics.
